Oracle Jinitiator 1.3.1.22 Installation Instructions for GPA Express System

 

On April 27, 2007 the Georgia Ports Authority will upgrade the GPA Express System webserver.  To continue with uninterrupted access to the Express system via the internet, all users are required to download and install Oracle Jinitiator 1.3.1.22 on their computers before April 27, 2007. 

 

After April 27, 2007 you will not be able to use http://terminalops3.gaports.com/express/index.html to enter the GPA Express system unless the Oracle Jinitiator 1.3.1.22 is installed your PC.  This Oracle client is required on all machines that are used to access the GPA Express system. 

 

After the installation of Jinitiator 1.3.1.22 you will continue use the Main Entry Form link on http://terminalops3.gaports.com/express/index.html to gain entry to the GPA Express system.

 

Your existing userid and password will not change.

 

Installation steps:

 

  1. Access website http://terminalops3.gaports.com/express/index.html.

 

  1. Under the heading “Required Plugins”, double-click on “Oracle Jinitiator 1.3.1.22”.  In the popup window select “Save”.  Note the filename and location where the downloaded file is to be saved on your PC.  This file is approximately 7.8mb.

 

  1. To install the Jinitiator on your PC, double-click on the JINIT13122.exe file that was downloaded in Step 1.  No special configuration is required.

 

  1. Close the browser window.

 

  1. Access website http://terminalops3.gaports.com/express/index.html and click on “Express20 Main Entry Form”. 

 

  1. If Jinitiator 1.3.1.22 is installed prior to April 27, 2007 there will be no change to the process of accessing the Express system.  When you access the Express system for the first time after April 27, 2007 a ‘Jinitiator Security Warning’ popup window will appear.  You must select the ‘Grant always’ option on the popup window to prevent it from appearing each time you enter the Express system.

 

  1. The new page may require a few seconds to load before the logon window is displayed.  In the logon window enter the userid, password, and database as provided by GPA.  After completing these steps the main screen for the GPA system will display.
